Baby A is here!

Abby arrived August 5th 2013 at 2:55pm…9 days late.

You haven’t seen any posts from me in the last month because I was useless and miserable! We had a number of days of extreme humidity(for our climate) and I was suffering from Shrek feet and many many other things that I’d just like to forget about now!!

And here she is!

Labor was great. Well, as good as it can get I guess. I woke up Monday morning feeling like absolute crap, I was cold even though it was warm and I had a brutal headache. Of course we were out of Tylenol. I ended up laying down around 9am and woke up having what I thought MIGHT be contractions but they weren’t intense enough to say for sure that they weren’t Braxton Hicks or cramping. They quickly intensified and off to the hospital we went! About an hour and a half after we got there Abby was born!

Life has been quite busy since her arrival but she is settling in just fine and is sometimes sleeping through the night at 2 months old!

I have yet to share photos of Abby’s room – watch for them very soon!

That’s all for now!

Saying goodbye…to pregnancy

I started this blog with hopes of it helping me express my thoughts throughout my pregnancy.

Well, pregnancy is coming to an end, there are 30 days left, and I actually haven’t had much time to even post here.

My last post was about the baby’s nursery. No updates there because of course it isn’t complete. Yeah… I’m due in 30 days!!

If I were to organize my time better, I’m sure it would be finished, I would probably have made more blog posts, And I may have even shaved my legs once in the past 5 months….but need I remind you I have a curious 15 month old that is with me 24/7. I guess I can thank her in a way for keeping me somewhat sane this past 9 months.

While I can’t wait for pregnancy to be over, and for the baby and I to be 2 separate bodies, I can’t help but think about the fact that I will never experience this again. Yes, I said it, I wrote it….never.

It’s time to close the pregnancy chapter that has consumed the last 2 years of my life and focus on raising my 2 girls in a frame of mind that doesn’t include the hormonal effects of pregnancy causing anger, bitterness, resentment…amongst other things.

I’ve definately learned a lot about myself while pregnant. Priorities have changed, my outlook on my chosen profession has changed and I have learned that less is more.

So, here’s to a new chapter with its own challenges, obstacles and no doubt tears but certainly not without the great love and support of family.

Up…and then down

I started a post earlier today but decided to save it for another time.
Little Zoe had a 3 hour nap today, and I nearly slept that long myself.
Yesterday I felt like I could conquer the world. Today – not so much. Oh the joys of pregnancy!
In the mean time I’ve been trying to come up with ideas for baby A’s(A is due July 27th) nursery.
If you follow me on Pinterest you might know where I’m going with this. But for those of you who are not, here is a snap shot.

I have only purchased one thing really.

And this is how it all kinda started with baby Z’s nursery and it all came together nicely with the help of my fiancé and both of our parents(grandma, grandpa, poppy and nanny).

Actually the birds are not the only thing I have. I also managed to score a free change table. Its currently in pieces patiently waiting my color choice for it. Bright sunny yellow? I think so!

Ok I found a picture of the change table before!

Photo credit goes to the girl who I picked it up from! When I asked for a picture she said at the time it was a catch all for everything. I see why she wanted to get rid of it lol! Hope she found a good place for the stuff! I was happy to take it off her hands! Can’t say no to free! She was also nice enough to completely take it apart before I got there, which was wonderful because it wouldn’t have fit in my car!

Pictures of her makeover to follow soon 🙂

Dad – If you are reading this, credit will be given lol

So it begins…

I’ve been wanting to start a blog that I’m not limited to one topic – here it is.

I’m unsure which direction this will go in but my life pretty much revolves around my one year old daughter as well as trying to stay sane while anticipating the arrival of my second daughter in a few short months.

When I’m not busy being a mom, I put food on the table(or should I say, help pay for the food that my fiance puts on the table…) by helping other women look and feel beautiful. Hair, nails, makeup, you name it.

I adore Pinterest. I think I pin more than I do……

And the grand finale of my first post, in an effort to keep this short and sweet….a picture of Z back when she was fresh just one year ago.

and Z now.
